My intermedius tads have started morphing out. there back legs are half gone? looks like leg then goes to bone. no feet. I raise them in a shoe box. do a partial water change twice a week. Poor water quality? I never had this problem before. What is a way to euthanize tads/frogs? John

Sure sounds like cannibalism. You'll have to scoop them out of the water to apply the Oragel.

Boy i did not think of cannibalism! I have 3 that were raised together. The one thing that might rule this out is that about a month ago I raised one seperately and it developed the same condition? I have another that just started getting its back legs that has been raised by itself and so far so good. I fed and change water twice a week. What does oragel do? Is there hope for these little guys? can they grow back bottom of legs? thanks john

Oragel will euthanize it. The missing limbs well not grow back. Allowing the froglet to grow may result in its death later down the road. Its better to end it suffering before it starts. I raise all my tads in individual containers as many if us do. Water changes are not necessary, but maybe do only one water change per week. I dont change my water but replenish any water that had evaporated from their containers every other day or so.

Just like Sam said, the Orajel will put them down. Place a frog alone in a container, put a dot of the gel on their neck/ just above the back, and it'll be over in no time.
