Hey,
just wanted to check if anyone used the insect lids with aluminum mesh? I always used the "Poly Fabric" ones. Seem to work OK.

http://superiorenterprise.com/catalog/d ... Path=21_34

Polyfabric lids come out to $0.15 each and
Aluminum mesh lids to $0.20 each
that's based on 500units

btw, anyone know if there is a better place to buy from then this? I ordered before, I think it was from here, but couldn't be totally sure. Took me a while to go through 500 lids :D

thx
Marty

I have only used the poly fiber, and they work great. It seems like the aluminum mesh holes are to big, and would allow wild flies to breed through it with your flightless flies, and you will end up with fliers. I say stick with the poly fiber since you know they work, and they are cheaper. That is the cheapest place I have found them, other then a member who posted 240 cups and lids for about $0.50 cheaper awhile back.

Thankx for the replies. I ordered the poly mesh lids...Once my fruit flies start chewing through those, I'll have to consider getting the metal mesh lids or getting a new less aggressive strain of flies

Marty,
I believe the screen mesh lids are going to be for insects like wax worms They will chew through the fabric lids, and not even slow down.
