Hi!

I set up my first viv not too long ago and just bought a humidifier at walgreens. The humidifier I bought is a "cool mist" type. My question is will the "cool mist" be too cool for the frogs? The automatic timer I have can only keep the humidifier on for 30min+. Is this too long? Thanks for any help!

Is it an ultrasonic humidifier? Regular humidifiers will condense on the way up, I would think. Ultrasonic ones put out a cloud of moisture.

Cool mist humidifiers are sonic humidifiers. Regular humidifiers put out hot steam, since they rely on heating and boiling the water like you would on a stove. So I can safely say that the cool mist humidifier is a sonic one.

The cooling action relies on evaporation, so I doubt it would hurt your frogs. I would invest in a timer that has shorter intervals, though. Digital timers can be found cheaply at any large hardware store or on ebay.
