Hello sorry to bring this one up........ but I would like to know of various humane ways of dealing with froglets who display SLS. This is a hideous problem one of which I am currently facing and am wondering how various members of the poison dart frog community have adequately treated their stock when this occurs. I realize that death is imminent and would like to somehow ease its passing. If you can spare a few moments on this thank you.
SLS is a very sad problem with froglets. The poor little guys are just starting life and aren't even given the faculties to stand up and eat. Its one of the worst parts of this hobby. We have had a couple discussions addressing this issue. Here are one link:
There is a new article out on euthanasia using benzocaine. Apparently if you get the gel and then dissolve it in water and place the amphibian in the water it will anesthetize the amphibian quickly and then the animal can then be pickled humanely.
