My Azureus are breeding a lot I have 5 froglets and like 15 tadpoles so far. I live in a small apartment so space is a concern and I have never sold frogs so I am not sure there are buyers for Azureus. I have a coco hut with petri dish in the tank, but the frogs choose to hide the eggs (I think under the large ramp I built in the tank). If I could get them to lay in the petri dish I suppose I could cull the eggs as a solution, but what other options do I have?

I would like to avoid drying out the tank if I can as I don't want the plants to die back.

Here is the enclosure.

If you don't want frogs then remove that water dish and don't collect eggs. If there's no water source for the frogs to deposit the tads then there's no froglets.

I agree. This is how shut down my Epipedobates. Once that water dish is gone they’ll get the message. Vivarium looks great btw. Your only other choice is to break up the group.

Thanks for the response. I only put the dish in once I notice the male has a tadpole on his back. If it gets to that point and I do not put the dish the tadpoles will perish. Is this what would cause them to learn to stop breeding?

It should slow them down. They may still produce clutches but as long as they have no place to deposit them they’ll get the idea sooner or later. Dart frogs have spacial memory so they may expect the dish to show up. Once they realize it doesn’t show up anymore they’ll Likely slow down breeding.
