I'm curious to find out how many youger members are on the boards, so I created this thread. I mean younger as if your still in junior high to high school. You don't have to post your age, but you can if you want to you. If you reply to this thread, you don't have to tell anything about your life, but if you want to you can. I wouldn't reccomend it though, because this forum is very public.

Hello, my name is Josiah. I have two D. tintorius azureus, And I think poison dart frogs are the best kind of herp ever!

EDIT: Thanks coxdre123!

You might want to post your age. This post may become a little creepy to others if you don't. Don't want to go into too much detail because I know how old you are. :) See you at SCADS!

Hello folks,

Please do NOT post your last names and or references to your age.

There is actually a rule on this board that you must be 18 to use it (or have parental consent). So - don't put us in a position of having to contact parents please.

And it's NEVER a good idea to include too much contact information (Last Name and Location together) in a public forum. If you need to share this information - share it privately.

Actually, I agree Lou. BUT - it's a good thing for younger members of the community to know each other - but not exactly an easy thing to facilitate.

I had mentioned sharing information privately rather than publicly. I'll add that I wouldn't share information privately until you have a very good idea of exactly who it is you're talking to.

It's a fine line - but I DO think it's a good idea for the younger folks to talk with each other.

May I add that if anyone sends questionable PMs to you younger folks (or older folks) that you should contact a Mod asap (and your parents).

Whoops, can't belive I forgot that. So your saying to not post age and last name, correct? And if somebody wants to know how old somebody is, they contact them via pm, right?

Generally speaking - it's not a big issue. It only becomes an issue if someone REALLY acts their age (which has happened a few times).

I don't know exactly how it would be best for younger members to convey age - but they should only give specifics privately (and only AFTER you know who you're talking with).

I'm also going to suggest that us folks who are NOT younger get the heck out of this thread as we are now outnumbering the younger folks. :D
