I am setting up a couple of vavariums and was wondering how to plant my broms.

I have clay pellets that I will use for dranage and then a layer of substrate, then moss. Right? How do you keep the substrate from filling up the holes in between the clay pellets? :?

Do you plant the broms directly into the clay pellet layer or do you use a cup or pot?

Thanks for all the help and useful information. I plan to post pictures of my project step by step, so maybe I can help some other newbies set up their first vavarium. :p

Depends on what type bromeliads you have. I had so many rot out on me when I planted them now i just mount them to a piece of wood, cork bark, or rock (wire that is not copper or Tillie Tack) and sit that above the soil so their roots don't get too wet.
