I would say that if it can squeeze it's head into the hole then the rest can fit........I just saw one of my varadero poking it's head out of a hole in some cork bark that I would swear I was going to have help get him out but nope the hole is no bigger then I would say 1cm or so......I found his hiding place now though....

I would say that it depends how big your thumb is. If the space is too small for your index finger, then your thumb won't fit in most cases...
