Was this posted a couple days back as well? I swear I've seen this story somewhere in the last week. Cool idea though, but I wonder how effective it would be in practice.

Yeah, read this a few days ago also but I don't think from here... another method of eliminating chytrid that seems like it won't work out in the real world. It's cool, and potentially useful to the research, but I have serious doubts about daphnia being any sort of answer to the problem.

I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption that it would take an insane amount of daphnia to clear Bd from a single body of water. Not to mention chytrid's ability to hitchhike across land as long as it doesn't completely dry out.. it can go where daphnia can't.

Hate to be Debbie Downer.. I hope it leads them somewhere in their research.

I can just imagine squadrons of crop dusters laying down trails of daphnia magna over a rainforest after a big rainstorm...
