Okay, so I am a newbie to the whole orchid scene. I have a couple that have seemed to be doing well. I haven't killed them...yet! I have decided to incorporate orchids into my wedding, we are going for the rainforest scene for our reception and thought orchids would fit well.

So, we found an AMAZING greenhouse here in Colorado. It is Fantasy Orchids in Louisville (incase any Coloradoans want to check it out). That place was HUGE!! I don't think that I will ever see as many orchids in one place again! I learned alot today and also brought a few more orchids into my care.

I have to add that Den. spectabile smells absolutely wonderful!! Someday I will have to start the nine year wait for the flower!! They said that it stays in bloom for three months and can make your whole house smell! I never realized that orchids can be that fragrant!

Needless to say, I have started a new hobbie!! Just thought I'd share. Oh yeah, their web site is http://www.fantasyorchids.com.

Your link wasn't working so I googled it. They have tons of stuff. I was lucky enough to catch the orchid exhibit at the national botanical garden in DC. The exhibit was great, if you could get around all the people taking pictures.

Can I make a suggestion: http://forum.theorchidsource.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

This will help you get on your feet and answer the MANY questions you're going to have.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think that I could keep up with another forum! I get sucked into this one WAAAAY too much!! They actually have a great dvd on many different things about orchids. It talks about many of the different kinds, as well as care. It is helping me a ton! Also, luceneck, thanks for putting up the link.
