Hi

I'm planning a large and unconventional viv, and need advice on glass thicness.

It will be 150 cm (59 inch) long, 50 cm (19 inch) wide, and 60 cm (24 inch) high.
The viv will be "aquarium style" - no doors. access through top only.
It will be devided into three equal 50 cm sections, using two glass dividers.
The dividers will be siliconed to the front, bottom, and back glass, so they add to the structural strength.
The dividers lower corners will be trimed, creating a common drainage for the three sections.
Basically, it will be like three 50x50x60 cm vivs glued together side by side.
Glass itself wil be common, cheap, general purpose glass.

Question is: what glass thickness to use?

I thought of using 6 mm (just under 1/4 inch) for everything but the lids, that will be 4 mm thick (lids do not contribute to strength and add weight).

Any other construction advice?

Thanks

Id use 1/4 inch plate. I have built my own, euro style vivs for years now and this is my go to. Doors, be it front or top are always 1/8th

if you are not worried about weight go with 1/4, but 1/4 glass does weigh alot. You could probably go with 3/16 with the added bracing in between.
