Here's an interesting thought. We are all aware that the successful incubation and development of PDF eggs can be affected by the cleanliness of the water, so how about introducing a few springtails to the water of the developing tads? They will be harmless to the egg mass, but feed on any fungus that may be kicking around, thus cleansing the eggs as they develop.
Is this a crazy idea?

Yes they do but when incubating, the water level is below the top of the eggs, so the springtails can access them.
