After discussing with Ed these eggs that were laid by my Azureus, Ed believes they will be fraternal tadpoles. I figured I'd post pics for everyone to see since it looks pretty interesting to me.

Thanks for the info Ed, and if you have any other information that might be beneficial you can just post it here.

Has anyone else had any experience with this?

I had the same experience a week or two ago with a clutch, they developed fine for the first week, but they didn't make it. I had planned on keeping them seperate to see if they shared markings or anything. I will try and find the pics and post them. Please keep us up to date.

With those two embryos fused together, you will probably end up with siamese twins. I don't think they will be viable :(
If you look closely, those are the yolk areas not the embryos that are touching. At this point, in those photos, there isn't any proof that even the yolks are fused. This is the same thing as twin chickens or reptiles hatching out of the same egg...

Here is an updated pic of the eggs. You can really see what Ed was talking about now. Both yolk reserves are pushed together within the same gel coat. It appears that both embryos are developing normally at this point.

Ha, that's incredible. I'm glad you wrote this thread because my azureus pair has this happen almost every other clutch, it's very strange. I have had two batches of eggs hatch with this and so far the first batch is at 1 month and the second is at 2 weeks. The first couple of times, they perished. I'm interested to see what happens. Good luck with yours!
