I'm in the process of making a 10 gallon vert, and I need some help constructing the screen frame for the top. I want to do something similar to the tank Bgreen posted in another thread. I have the screen, the knob to hold up the glass, and the silicone. I just don't know what to get to make the frame, or where to get it. It will have to be 9.75" wide by 3" high. Any help would be great, thanks.

Home Depot or another hardware store sells frames (and nifty 90 degree brackets for the corners) that you can cut to size, then push the screen in with spline just like you would any screen door/window.

I get my frame from a local glass supplier.
If has corners that fit inside the frame and no plastic pieces.
I think it gives it a cleaner look.
Good luck in your search and if you have any questions about my setup
feel free to ask.

What do you use to cut the metal frame to size? Did you get someone at Home Depot to cut it for you?

Yep... I think the frames are made of aluminum, which cuts easily with a hacksaw. Don't push hard and bend the smaller lip of the frame... slight pressure and let the saw do the work. Saw from the flat back of the frame towards the front... otherwise there can be issues with getting the corner brackets to fit snugly.

Hmm, sounds like an interesting idea. Anybody have the link to this thread?
