Hey guys,

I've been trying to get into macro and general closeup photography over the last couple of months. My university has a wide selection of mirrorless and DSLR cameras for rent so I've been checking one out once a week. The lab I do research in also has a 100mm macro lens for imaging specimens and so I've been borrowing that as well. I work at a local reptile shop and so I've been going over there to take pics of specimens to get my feet wet with photography! Thought I would share some dart frog and non dart frog pics from my experiments over the last few weeks.

Also, if anyone has any tips for macro photography and suggestions to make my future photos better I would love to hear them!

Same here. I need to look at a few new things but always end up talking myself out of it based on the cost.
Very nice. I'm still shooting with extension tubes, but am considering finally throwing down the money for a dedicate macro lens.
I’ve been lucky that I have access to a macro lens at the university but I’m graduating in April so that option is going to disappear. I don’t even have a camera yet so the prospect of dropping $1,500+ on a camera and nice macro lens is daunting.
