Just wondering if anyone can help. i have just started building a foam background for my dart frog tank, i sprayed the foam onto the glass and it stuck fine, i left it to dry for 3 days then it came to sticking Eco earth to it and it wont stick, i used black aquarium silicon and damp Eco earth but it has gone patchy, can anyone suggest an idea on how to completely cover it?

I have had great luck with black silicone and coco fiber. The big trick (as mentioned by randommind) is to put a good amount of silicone on and then immeditiely apply bone dry coco fiber.

I did it in sections and when I applied the coco fiber, I pressed it firmly into the silicone and held it for a few seconds.

Hope this helps!

Trim off the outter smooth layer of foam so the silicone has a better surface to adhere to & yes press in bone dry coco or peat.

Good call.

I assumed he aready did this, it is a crucial step!
Yes, I made this mistake once...never again. Porous and rough surface is key for silicone to stick well.
