Picked up this little guy yesterday, any idea what it is?

Looks like Asplenium nidus common name- Bird's Nest Fern.

I don't think it's A. nidus doesn't look like any of the cultivars I've seen or worked with...


is there a noticable rhizome on the plant???

It is entirely possible that I am incorrect. A nidus was the closest match I could find.

Superficially at least, it looks like the Microsorum steerii we had at the MSU botany greenhouse.

Zack, that's what i was thinking, just couldn't remember the species...

Deff not A. nidus, grown many of them. It doesnt have an abvious rhizome but it doesnt have the distinct crown like A. nidus, more just a cluster of leaves like a maiden hair

Does resemble Microsorum steerii so could be a cultivar or a similar species.

Ok got onto the growers site and went through their fern list and found what i had, its a Blechnum spatersonii
