From what I have been hearing pretty good. Mine seem very hardy. The only problem I had was that they didnt seem to be interested in ffs so they are only eating springtails right now. Some people have said that they will get used to eating the ffs over time. One was getting very very skinny and I think it was over stress so I put him/her in its own box where it was also closer to food and it got a really nice belly on it. Glen from Seaside said that out of the hundreds he has sent out very few have had problems and same with the shipments that came in from panama. But over all the Almirante are what seem to be giving the people the most trouble but I have no clue why.

THE TERM "FARM RAISED" IS JUST A FANCY WORD FOR WILD CAUGHT. SUPPLIERS USE THE TERM SO AS NOT TO TURN PEOPLE OFF FROM BUYING THEIR STOCK.

YEAH, I KNOW SOME PEOPLE WHO'VE IMPORTED THEM IN THE PAST AND AT BEST THEY COME FROM SOMEONE WHO OWNS A CHUNK OF RAIN FORREST AND JUST GOES OUT AND PLUCKS THEM FROM THE WILD. PUMILIO ACUALLY SHIP PRETTY WELL AND SEEM TO ACCLIMATE TO CAPTIVITY THOUGH. AS LONG AS THEY KEEP COMING IN HEALTHY I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT. LETS JUST HOPE WE DON'T HAVE ANOTHER FIASCO LIKE THAT LAST BIG SHIPMENT, I THINK A YEAR OR 2 AGO. WHAT A MESS.

unbelievable how many people out there know everthing about that which they have no hand in and even quicker to run their mouths over it........
It's almost not even worth discussing it rationally anymore.

when we have actual pictures of greenhouses in which the pumilio are farmed, and when reputable people like quality exotics carry them, I find it very hard to believe that "farm raised" is merely used to keep customers from being put off.

hey johnny,

i'm wondering if you'd rather have a man with a greenhouse full of frogs in the middle of an otherwise wooded lot of forrest waiting to get shipped to someone who will care for them and breed them or if you'd rather have that man burn down the forrest to grow coca for the coke heads or coffee for the caff heads. And when his neighbors do all burn down the forrest for food or coke or coffee and they realize "hey remember what used to be here wasn't it great (for some reason or another people usually don't realize what they have until its gone) lets replant some of it" where do you think the frogs will come from. Just a thought.
