Ok, I did a search on 'false bottom' and didn't really find anything that addressed my questions, though I find it hard to believe that it hasn't been asked before.
So here it is...
I've decided in my 29 gl tall tank that I will obtain as soon as I find one for a great price, lol, that I'm definately going to use a false bottom design with a waterfall. I'm pretty sure I understand the whole idea behind the design and all that, but with the waterfall, wouldn't the water just make the soil all muddy? And if i were to somehow contain the water to a pond-ish area, wouldn't it not get the full filtering benefits of the substrate?
