Hi, I have a few questions about them. Is there a need to have them if you dont plan on having a pump down there to keep the water active and if so how would you go about draining the water with all the soil and plants on top of the false bottom. Hope this question isnt to redundant. Can anyone provode some links on how to set up a flase bottom with a pump. Thanks.

what i did was i stuck a 1 1/2" pvc pipe through the false bottom before adding plants and then added a end cap which screws on so when i want to remove water i just open it up and siphon the water out.

I'm sure there are places out there, but its really not so complicated that you can't figure it out to how it will suit you best.

Ther criteria is to make sure you can remove the pump for replacement and maintainance. I also needs to obviously draw water from below the water level. Other than that just make sure water gets to it and you can get it out.
