I have read many posts and most members describe getting "egg crate" from Home Depot. I went to my local HD and received blank stares. I then described a plastic lattice work which lead to me being shown some 2 ft high garden fencing. I resorted to walking up and down each isle and still saw nothing. Is there a different name for it that I should use when asking? Is it seasonal and I just need to wait? This does seem to only happen to me and many others appear to easily obtain egg crate at HD so I must be doing something wrong. ??

It's also known as light diffuser. I typically find them around the light fixtures, or sometimes near the ceiling tiles.

thank you! I knew there must be a more 'home construction specific" term that I wasn't using. Plastic lattice got me nothing but garden fences.

The guys at my Lowe's had no idea what I was talking about, either. Not even when I described it as light diffuser. Finally found it with the insulation.

I've found it in the lighting section as well as in the area with the insulation in different stores. It seems to migrate around on occasion...
