I have earthworms in my 55 and from what I can tell is they are doing their job. My plants are all doing well, too well actually. I have to weed and trim the tank every 3-4wks.

I have redwigglers that I use to feed my firebellied toads.. I just put in two of them in my vivarium(future home for azureus). I hope they are successful :)

I put a pair of night crawlers into my frog's viv, and they grew ENORMOUS! They also both found their way under the false bottom and are merrily decomposing.

Can you do that with a false bottom? I was always afraid that they'd all drown in the water under the false bottom.

I have a false bottom and a hole at the bottom of my tank :)..
But it is all screened in with polyester/nylon screening. I don't think the worms will go through that..
