Hi all. Ive got my first two tads that are about 3 weeks old. They are tincs.

One of the tad's has always looked a bit biger than the other, almost like he's inflated... now at the edges it is a little transparent and i can see through it!

The other tad looks smaller but a little more like what id expect.

Anyway, the larger of the two has today started floating towards the top of the water, its not dead yet as it swims away when i go near it but i wouldnt be at all suprised if it died soon

Does anyone know what this could be, or has anyone had the same problem?

Bloating, probably. Do you feed any food with yeast in it? Also, do you try to mix the food in with the water, or just leave it on top. And BTW, there's a Disease section, which is probably a better place to ask.

Hey thanks for the reply,

Im feeding them with ed's fly meat tad powder, so i dont think the food is the problem.

Ive just been sprinkling it on top, though some does sink.

Would it be better to mix it with the water? What could cause bloating?

the tad seems to be ok now, he's returned to just chilling at the bottom of the tank.

I had a same thing happend to my Lamasi and azureus, right after I changed the water. Maybe the tadpole swallow some air that mixing in the water. My azurreus tadpole did not make it but my Lamasi barely survived. Just leave the tadpole alone for it to cure himself.
