I'm gradually putting togather pieces for may first terrarium and I recently came into possesion of an interesting collection of driftwood but I'm not sure how some would hold up in the terrarium. I've got several pieces of cedar and one redwood that I think are Ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Some of the most interesting pieces are Buckeye (I think), which I know nothing about. It seems fairly soft but would look great in the tank. Anyone have any experience with it?

cedar, pine, and woods with lots of tar can be harmfull to amphibians. I prefer to use heart woods, burls, and real heavy woods. Light weight pieces often deteriorate quickly. Cork bark, and grapevine do o.k. Their is some real heavy stuff available at shows and from terrarium supplies that has done well for me. I don't know what it's called.
