I currently have a dart frog vivarium with a leca drainage layer and and exo terra frogs and co sub stratum as the substrate. My plants are growing well and the roots reach into the leca.

Im planing on building a second vivarium and I want to use the exo terra frogs and co sub stratum as my only substrate with no leca.

My thinking behind that is that there would be a deeper substrate for the plants to get nutrients from and I have high humidity where I live so maybe there would be a bit less humidity in the vivarium. I currently have about 98%-100% humidity in my vivarium trough the day.

Would there be any benefits or negatives on using the sub stratum only?
