Dendrobatidae Nederland releases issue 5 of the English magazine!

As an association serving the Dutch frog enthusiasts for over 20 years now, with a full coloured Dutch magazine existing for more then 8 years, we hope to reach the same for our English readers.
It seems that we’re on the right track, we just released issue 5!
And more is yet to come, so please join us! The possibility of an ongoing subscription until you resign is now available!

Click here to become a subscription! www.webshop.dendrobatidae.org

And remember, all profits of our sales directly benefits our purposes, as there are for example the Amphibian Nature Reserve Ranita Dorado in Colombia and the research into and combating of the Chytrid fungus both in hobby and nature settings.

If you have any comments, feel free to contact me at: [email protected]

Best regards,
Ingmar

Dear frog enthusiasts,
Full of sadness, I have to inform you that DN has stopped with the release of new editions of our English magazine.

Main reason for this is the lack of sufficient subscribers compared to the high costs.

Too bad, it was, in my opinion, a beautiful magazine, your positive comments makes that I can say that with proud, thanks to anyone who supported us!
But for the moment I can not decide otherwise.

Issue 1 to 5 will still be available in our web shop, out Dutch magazine will be too.

Sincerely, Ingmar van IJzendoorn

I didn't find an online or iPad version.

I pretty much only read magazine on my iPad anymore. Maybe you could offer an online version or a Zinio release, you would definitely increase your readers that way.

That's sad. I just found out about this magazine about 5 weeks ago and have enjoyed the first issue I ordered.

Well, it was doomed from the start. Almost no marketing of the magazine, VERY high cost. Very few pages to each magazine, poor photography, and wasnt impressed with the articles. I LOVED the large format, and the IDEA of a magazine dedicated to PDF's. But, combine these factors together, and after a few issues, I was no longer interested.

Edit: Still disappointed its shut down though, as I could see it improving.

Yes, it didn't buy because of the price and shipping.
BUT if they would go digital, you could lower the price (No printing fees), would could eliminate all shipping fees. Maybe you could offer back issues for $5 each delivered digital, the lower price would increase sales.

Many times I asked for comments, positive as well as negative, to improve the magazine. Never a word from the two of you, THAT's a pitty, but nothing to do about that.

Yet, thank you for sharing, it was al learning experience for me too...:(
