Hi Folks,
I just got done tearing down a 29g that had some monkey tree frogs (hypochondrialis) in it and was wondering what everyone else does to disinfect used tanks.I am getting some new frogs very soon and want to have it cleared of all possible problems. I plan on using a 5% bleach solution but I really don't want to have to fill the whole tank up with water.Could I mist the sides with the solution and fill the bottom with it and be safe? How long does it take bleach to kill parasites or other nasties?
Thanks,
Mark W.

A 5-10% chlorine solution sounds fine as long as it is rinsed really well. I have also had great success with using Simple Green. As long as either is rinsed well, you should have no problems. I agree with your not wanting to fill the entire tank with water and misting with the diluted solution and a good follow up rinsing should be just fine.
