Did I order the right frogs for my terrarium?

So I just placed a order for 3 Tinc. Citronella. I have a Tinc. Oyapock already for over a year and he's been wonderful. However, Mr. Bubbles is by himself in a 18" x 18" tank with a nice backing, waterfall and terrain. This new tank I have is a 75 gallon big tank- nice for three frogs- but we converted the tank to be an upright with a three tier waterfall into a pond so the land is maybe 10 inches by 10 inches. Are the Tinc. Citronella's a bad idea because of the lack of land?

Yes, I think it is a bad idea to put 3 tincts into a 75 vertical with only 10x10 of land. That's small for even one tinc in terms of floor space, let alone 3 which can cause problems since tincs are often very aggressive, especially with females. If you ditch the waterfall and pond, and keep it as a standard 75 gallon so there is plenty of floorspace the might be ok. And just to clarify, the citronellas would be kept separate from the oyapock, correct?

By an upright do you mean a vertical? So the tank stands on one end and is 4 feet tall?
That is very little ground space for a terrestrial frog (which is what you ordered) If you have it set up well so that there is a lot of climbing room, it sound to me like you are much better set up to house a few arboreal Thumbnails like Vanzolini, Sirensis (formerly Lamasi), Ventromacula, or Amazonica. You could also do a pair of Imitators.

I bet I know someone posting on this thread who could give you a good deal on some varadero or sirensis if you wanted a more appropriate frog

Why, whomever do you mean?
Oh, wait, I happen to have a few extra Sirensis myself. I am sold out on Varadero right now. PM me if you are interested.
Thank you everyone for confirming my suspicions that I ordered with my heart not my brain! I am going to cancel those guys and wait for another time (and another tank) to get those Tinc. Citronellas. Oh and just to clarify, Mr. Bubbles my Tinc. Oyapock has his own tank with plenty of land. I did order him a girl friend... I hope he likes her. If not she'll still be given a good home. In the mean time I'm checking out some of those other frogs you guys mentioned. I did stumble across Phylobates Vittatus on the Internet. They look beautiful and from what I read they may do well in my tank....? I also read that they were bold for being small, and that is exactly what I'm looking for. I hope the website isn't fibbing! :)
Phyllobates arent really arboreal. You will need a thumbnail to take full advantage of that viv.
I agree with that.
get a group of imitators, amazonicus, vanzolinii, or ventrrimaculata for that tank

Good to know on that phylobate! I spent this morning looking at those other frogs that were mentioned. Wowwie, they are pretty! Thanks for the information, I will be posting the frogs on here in about a month once I recieve them. I'm fortunate to have a reptile show within driving distance here coming up (Portland, Oregon) so my new babies will get a nice warm drive to their new home!
a 75 gal vertical !! wow

If I were a 1.3 group of pumilio :D I'd be really happy.

Or a nice 5-6 member group of imitator/intermedius/lamasi etc

Best,

Shawn
So are your three word responses in the slew of threads over the last few days, Mister or Missus "cosyis77"......I wonder, are you bumping your post count up for a particular reason...or did you want to practice actually providing ANYTHING of SUBSTANCE to any of the infinite of topics here on Dendroboard?

As is, you are the newest ``NO BUENO`` individual on my list because of such inconsequential spam....[[note: mods and Kyle, if these people are trying to raise their post count for the classifieds, perhaps we should raise the count FURTHER and/or add further prior restraints as to prove oneself within the Dendroboard-dartfrog-community before such mindlessness should continue. Just a suggestion..thanks]]

Do you have any photos of the tank? And is it full of orchids? :D
