What do the calls of a Dendrobates Reticulatus sound like? Are they loud? Any examples? Do they sound like crickets loudly chirping at night? Can owners of this species please record a sample sound clip and kindly e-mail it to me? Thanks.

I think I have been told they are very soft, and can not be heard. Someone correct me if this is wrong.

Thats my point... Have not heard any yet. Like I said I have been told you can not hear them.

Thus the 0.0.5, as I do not know the sex of any of them. If I had seen them calling I would list it different.

Dendrobates reticulatus call

The only time I ever heard my D. reticulatus call was when the electricity went out and I was reading with a flash light by their cage. The house was completely quiet and even then it took me a while to recognize they were calling. Very soft, like a very small cricket.

Best,

Chuck
You wouldn't happen to be asking if you can put them in a closet so you can't hear them. This all sounds quite familiar. I apologize if I am wrong.

It is a quiet call but no softer that a tinc, definitely audible. Kind of like a muted cricket.
