Can some of you that have worked with both of these help me decide which would be best for me? pros/cons? Size, boldness, activeness, how prolific? That kind of stuff. Thanks a bunch fellas

I have never worked with Darklands so I can not compare the two, but I will say that no matter how my collection may shift directions in the future, Caucheros will always be a part of it. They were my first pumilio and have been the boldest, most outgoing, and interesting frogs to observe. They have allowed me to witness and even record on occasion, every single stage of their life cycle. A truly awesome from IMO.

Thanks! After seeing how well my cristo's are doing and just experiencing the pumilio behavior the past 5 months I'd love to plan to get some more. And I really dig the color variables with the darklands/cauchero. I'd love to come home from frogday with a pair of one of the morphs. ;)

If I'm so lucky, would a horizontal or vert tank be best? I want to begin building one this coming weekend. And petco has their $1/gallon sale going on right now.
My Cucheros have been great they breed like clock work and are very bold. The froglets have real nice blue and seem easy to care for. I have them in an exoterra but they seem to like to be high up in the tank so I am sure a vert would be fine. I keep all my other pums in verts with success.

Awesome. I'm leaning towards the caucheros so far. Mostly because I've heard theyre slightly larger. I just scored a 40B for $40 at petco for another vert. my christo's seem to really enjoy the extra leg room. So another one would sound good. Thanks!

Nice, I hope you do a build thread. I want to do a vert tank when i get a rack.

I did a thorough thread on another board, that doesn't seem to exist
Any longer. I can try and piece pictures together of it when I get the time.
I'm quite confident I've decided on cauchero's. Can anyone give me an estimate on what I should expect to pay for a pair. within reason? And will anyone have a confirmed sexed pair for sale at frog day?
there has been debate as to the true difference (or lack thereof) between these two.... i will say that having lived in a house with both, (i have darklands, my roommate has cauchero) the darklands are smaller and perhaps slightly darker in color.

for your purposes, the cauchero will be easier to find (availability) and more reasonably priced, and seem to breed much more readily.

Thanks james, thats exactly what I was looking for as an example! any chance your roommate has any froglets he wouldn't mind raising up and sexing for me? ;)
Lol thanks
you could PM him (i dont live there anymore). his SN is flapjax3000.

randommind's frogs are progeny of lee's (flapjax) frogs. they produce a pretty constant stream of offspring so you may get lucky.

James,
do you think I should look for a specific line of them? Or would FR or WC be better for breeding purposes. I'm not a fan of wc or fr animals (i like the"be happy with whats here" approach). I'm not really afraid to spend the money, I just want to know I'm investing well.
there seems to be good success breeding F2 frogs of this locale so you should be pretty good buying CB animals.

james
Ok thanks alot. I really appriciate it!
