I was curious to know if cutting bromeliad flowers would be bad for them. I am planning to put some that will be close to the lid, and if they flower there will not be enough room. I’ve even heard that some plants can knock the lids of the tanks if they are too overgrown. So, if they flower, would it be okay to cut it off?

Yes, I think it is fine. I do, once they finish flowering. I even dig out the centre axil sometimes as well.

I'm not a big plant guy, but my understanding is that they only flower once. I find they decline slowly aftewards, and often start to pup out new ones.
