So i started this tank with the idea to make something that resembled a small tropical forest and have been pushing for it for a few months now. So i started with an old tank i had a cut out the glass from it using a razor and with buying some and cutting some myself i came up with what you see in the pictures. Its 30 tall 22 wide and 12 deep i have 2 fans that are mounted through the top that blow on the front glass to help with condensation and 1 that blows on the orchids for air movement. They are both mounted on a controller so i can adjust them individually. As for lighting i went with something i have never seen before on here and went with your basic outside light fixture since the tank was thin and not very wide i wanted something that was bright yet gave the plants the right light spectrum. So i opted for a custom build and very well priced may i add. I used a rectangle spot light used for outside sheds or garages from lowes and also a 3 pronged plug in for about 50 bucks then went and made a little box for it and lifted off the glass about 2 inches with little supports i made inside and wholla 6500k light fixture in flouresent that puts out something like 4000 lumens and 65watt. It doesnt relly get that hot i raised off the glass another inch with for nails in each corner because i was getting about 93 degrees at the top. All the plants are looking good and temp and humidity are great at the top im getting about 78 degrees with 90 percent humidity. As for plants thats a whole nother story and trying to get everything established and some mosses growing.
