After making front opening tanks from 10's 20's and everything else, we desided to finally give custom tanks a go.
This is the second design and what I am going to modle my big tanks after. The tank pictured is 29.9 gallons
and is working like a dream. The doors will completly remove so you can replace the doors or just get that big
chunk of wood you like in. At first I wasn't sure how I was going to like seeing the over lapping glass, but in
person you don't really see it. The nozzles are also DIY (based off Vivaria's design) and the only way to go.
Enjoy the few pics!

Doors removed and then with doors:

Great job Ben! Looks great. If I ever have free time again I'm going to try doing something similar.

Thank you everyone! I will let Justin know you like his planting skills.
We don't have any construction pictures, but I am working on the BIG version and getting a few pictures here and there, but nothing that shows how we are making them really.

That tank is vented just out the top screen section, we didn't put in any lower vents because the frogs liked to poop in the old style. I am going to try something closer to the euro style front vent on my next one, and a newly designed top vent. We are also working on a solacryl top section for the use of UV lighting.

Beetle is right on the plant. It does well in a tank, but it likes a little room.

I was wondering what you used to put the doors together such as sliding track, how you are able to take the glass out and what you used to seal the two pieces of glass where the slider is. Also is this ff proof or thumbnail proof? Also could you tell me where I might be able to find the parts for the door. Is this the European design with vents in front so the glass doesnt fog up?By the way looks good.

thanks, Neil

Lol, I just emailed you too....

Hey Neil,
I get the sliding track from OutWater. It is nice stuff and easy to cut. The top track is deeper than the bottom track so the glass just lifts up and
then you can swing the bottom out. The tank is fruitfly tight with the u-channel on the edge of the glass door. That was a prototype tank so we didn't build a vent into the front, but the tank I am working on now is getting one. Hope that helps. Once I get the big tank done I will get some pictures and explain more.

Here is just the glass on the new one:

Enjoy,
