I just witnessed them courting for the first time!! So excited!! They were following each other around and last I saw them was in the leaf litter. Should I go digging in the leaf litter searching for eggs in the morning?? They have 2 coco huts in there but I don't think they are using them. Do they normally lay eggs in leaf litter???

Congrats on the courting. Most tinctorius morphs that I have will use the coco-huts, but my Bakhuis have been known to lay on the leaf litter or on foliage. If they laid on the leaf litter, it will be on top of the leaf litter (so you should see them). It is very difficult to move eggs that are laid this way, so it would be better to put in a small dish of water and let the male transport the tadpoles, then take them out from there.

I'm sure they'll use the coc-hut eventually.

Take care, Richard.
