This is one that I can at least help a little. Puedes incluir algunas photos?

Jose is having some troubles with black algae growing on the leaves of his plants and is looking for solutions to get rid of it or control the spread. He has a (2000g?) tank that has both solar and led lighting.

Perhaps some pictures would be helpful.

I can't translate but the solution is to dry out the tank if possible. A fan helps a lot even one that is only intank. If drying out is not an option than in another thread folks here were suggestion hydrogen peroxide 3% solution sprayed on the leaves. You need to make sure the frogs are not exposed.

If anyone's Spanish is better than mine, feel free to jump in and correct me. I haven't used it in this century, so I am a little rusty but glad that I am able to contribute a little here given my lack of knowledge in all things frog.

hello and greetings from Costa Rica, I have a tropical vivarium of 2000g L-shaped ivertida in concrete and glass , 500g aquatic and 1500g, with solar lighting and some led reflectors, and fog system

The problem I have is that a black algae appears and some of the leaves, covering them completely, increase their weight and fall and die.

any ideas or doubts, I hope you can help me

What an awesome vivarium!

I don't know what access you have through the top but even just a fan pointing at the affected plant can dry it out pretty quickly. Done over time the algae will eventually die. Other option is to spray hydrogen peroxide 3% solution (this is what is sold in our grocery stores in the states). This will also kill the algae but you don't want the hydrogen peroxide to get on the frogs (assuming there are frogs in this tank). You don't need to drench the plant in the stuff either, just a light spraying. You can put something over the plant to keep the frogs off of it for a few hours and you should be good to go. Doing this once a day for a few days should kill any algae.

XDfireguy, your Spanish was pretty darn good...no need to use a translator. Your advice was spot on.

Thanks, but I have to give credit for the advice to Minorhero. I just tried to do my best to translate. I am pushing 50 ( already?), so it probably has been closer to 30 years or more since I used my Spanish. I was honored to be able to assist, and will gladly continue if it helps at all.
