I caught these two New River girls fighting over the male. The one on the bottom ended up laying the eggs this time around!

I used to care for a trio of yellowbacks (1.2) and the females would wrestle like crazy whenever the male citronella in the neighboring tank would call. It's amazing just how attuned they are to the frequency as I couldn't even hear him call, but knew he was whenever I saw them fighting. Oddly enough, the male yellowback didn't care much for calling and just loved to eat....lol. He did his part though... if he felt like it.

I watched a good one lastnight. I have a 1.3.1 imitators in a 20 vert.The male was eating some fruit flies with another female on a chineses evergreen leaf.Another female jumped on the same leaf and the male started calling.The female that was there got up high on it's toes and tilted it's head some in some kind of posturing move then pounced on the new arrival. They wrestled a for a few seconds then fell down to the leaf litter.
They both climbed back up and each took a different leaf after that.Very cool behavior but one of the females will be off to a new home soon.
