Can Great Stuff foam be removed from a tank? Assuming one day you want to use the tank for something else, or is it in there permanently?

Yep, just rip it out and remove the excess off the glass with a NEW razor blade. It won't come off the silicone easy though.

I don't know if I'd want to use acetone in a tank I'm gonna re-use.

For the love of the frog-gawd....... NOOOOOOO

Keep that acetone about ten miles away from any of your frog paraphernalia!
The razor blade will do the job perfectly without having to resort to the carcinogenic atrocity that is acetone.

I took an enormous amount out of my tank when i wasn't satisfied with how it looked, and it didn't take long at all. It was actually a lot of fun to rip apart the source of my frustration. :D
