went home for the weekend, just came back to my room at school, and there i find a crispy leuc on my bed very not happy right now...i haven't the silghtest idea how he got out either, the tank is pretty much seamless
Are you for real? I duno how that could happen, i mean why anyone would come in my room is beyond me...and why they would try digging out a frog from my tank is even weirder. i just found a dried up frog in a wrinkle in my comforter (the foot of the bed is like 1 foot from the tank).
Sorry to hear that but thanks for posting it. I think more people need to hear stories like this as these frogs can get out of some small holes. It is best to use all glass lids that seal the whole top. I actually silicone the back half of my tops on my tanks. Keeps the FF's and frogs in.
Im need to make some adjustments to my new bastis tank to make sure I get rid of some cracks here and there. I also want to silicone the a little more on the rim of the tank but i also dont want to have to take them out agian. Ill figure some thing out.
yeah, never would have imagined the small cracks in the top would be large enough to let out a frog. but on the bright side im startin up a new 10gal this week, so not all is lost
Do you have any nieces or nephews, sons or daughters, grandchildren? My nephew, although I do love him, got into one of my tanks once and just thrashed it. Fortunately, no frogs got our or hurt. I have came in and found that he has left lids open and stuff as well. Just a thought
i lost 4 six point auratus exactly like that about a month ago. went away for two days to do some tiger salamander research on fort bragg and come back to find 4 crispy dried frog snacks. found the tiniest crack between the glass lid and the tank rim. needless to say my eyes are like a hawks now looking for possible escape points after everytime i close the lids following feedings
