Do pumilio ever lay food eggs in a brom if there is not a tadpole present. The reason I ask is that I have a film canister that has about 6 non-fertile eggs in it. Since the canister is black, it is really tough to see any tadpoles (especially small ones) and I don't want to disturb it too much. This will be this pair's first offspring so I am kind of excited to see what they produce.

I am sure somebody knows the answer to this question. Maybe I just asked it on the wrong day.

Are food eggs in a film canister or brom axial proof that there is a tadpole in there?

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore. After looking several times with a flashlight and seeing nothing, I poured the canister into a cup and found no tad. :( If it was there, it isn't anymore. At least I know they are trying.
