I have heard that these maggots or "moussies" are potentially disease ridden and just not a good option. Is this true? It seems these would be a great addition to some rapidly growing P. terribilis' diet. If home cultured, how many generations before a potential disease is removed, if ever?

All my thanks!

Mousies are also known as rat-tailed maggots. I'm not really a frogger but for what its worth: given their diet / typical habitat I'd be loathe to even fish with them. Home culture might be different . . .

. . . then again, the blurb about human intestinal myiasis of these things makes my skin crawl.
