Are rose bush roots safe for a viv?

We're moving and had to remove our rose bushes. The root systems are awesome and would look great and offer some nice hiding spots. Obviously they'll be aged and boiled/cleaned before use. Just wondering if there is any reason they wouldn't be safe for frogs. Thanks.

Depends on if the roses were heavily fertized. I have used rose roots in a bunch of viv's. They are very eye appealing and they do not break down. I have had some in viv's for several years before they started to deteriorate.
Sweet. Thanks. The bushes weren't fertilized, but the yard around them was once a year. I plan on washing them, sitting them in the sun for a week, and then storing them away until I can use them. I'll boil them before placing them in the tanks, but it's probably going to be a good six months before I get around to building my next vivs.
