Im Planning a 90 gallon Anthonyi Biotope. I've gotten a list of terrestrial plants ready, But i'm stuck in terms of aquatics [didnt come from the aquarium hobby at all]

I'm planning to have a small pond along the front of the viv[being filtered by a very small waterfall] and i want a couple small growing plants to create a carpet along with some taller plants...

SO, are there any smaller plants that'll form a carpet and that'll grow out of the water, BUT are native to Ecuador? examples of things that grow the same are aquatic baby tears, and small crypts...

thanks in advance, hope it made sense...

I know that dwarf sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata) is native to some parts of South America, and it can grow a thick carpet in aquariums...I have to constantly pull it so it doesn't out compete my other plants in my aquariums. I have no idea though if it's found in Ecuador though, but it may be one worth checking into. It's pretty common in the fish trade so you should be able to find it anywhere.
