If so how did they work out? I bought a small plant from Lowe’s the other day to put into the vive I am putting together for some up coming frogs. What type of substrate works best for them; how fast do they grow?
Thanks in advance for your help.

They do well in vivariums, as their small compact pitchers dont overcroud other plants. Frogs also like them better than bromeliad funnels, they hold a lot of water! 8) Dont fertilise it, and only give it purified water. A good substrate for Sarracenia purpurea is two parts peat/coco fiber, one part LFS, one part sand, and one part perlite. Keep the plant in a pot, and from Thanksgiving-Valentines day (about 3 months), You will need to take the plant out of the pot and give it a dormancy. If you live in a cold climate where temps get below 45ºF in the winter, just put the plant outside. Otherwise bare-root it, soak the plant in fungicide, wrap it in a paper towel, stick it in a baggie, and toss it in the fridge. Good luck! If you can, please post a picture
