Am I going to get ripped off?

Hi all,

I'd like your thoughts on the selection and prices of this store that I plan on getting my lights at. I'm getting lighting for a 36 gallon bowfront.

I really don't know anything about lighting other than the little that I've retained from reading just about every single post on this board.

Any suggestions for a 36 gallon? Isn't it generally better to have more smaller lights than one huge one? Something about not burning as hot but creating more light?

As always, thanks for the help!

The link doesn't take me to any thing specific, so it's hard to give advice based on that.
For that tank, I would recomend a 55w, compact flourescent retrokit from AH supply.
It would light the whole tank pretty well without bringing the temp up too much.
As far as more small lights being better, when you're talking compacts, once you get up to the 55 watters, they are much more effecient than the lower watt models.
For example: A 36w compact is said to produce 2400 lumens, (66.666 lumens per watt)
A 55 watt compact produces 4800 lumens (87.272 lumens per watt)
See the difference?
I agree with a 55w kit.

Oops, sorry I thought I linked it to the flourescent lighting section.

Thanks for the input though
