how long does it usually take for epiphytic plants to anchor themselves to whatever they're on? for instance i have a bunch of tillandsia and some broms that are just against a surface (like cork bark)...and i was wondering how long it'll take for them to be secure?

It really depends on the species and conditions. Most Neoregelia will anchor themselves within a few weeks, while Tillandsias can take months.

I don't know if you've seen this before, but here's a link on how to make a viv. They show how to attach some tillandsias. They do a really good job and have a lot of good ideas.
