Can I add springtails to a store bought ff culture. The culture STINKS! More than normal, it is sour like, and the top looks powdery. Will springtails help with the smell?

I don't think it will help. The media looks like it has shrunk and pulled away rom the sides. May need more water. That's just a guess though.

that culture looks severely dehydrated, i'd ask the store you brought it from what media they use and then reconstitute it.
