I am building a simple new viv for some thumbs using the great stuff method, and was wondering if anyone has used the AGB substrate mix for the final coat over the silcone? I have coco bedding but think that the AGB would look better and actually hold roots and moisture better.
Are there any advantages or disadvantages to using it?

I have used coco/peat/milled sphag...not abg, but parts of it...I really prefer the different colors/textures that a mixture provides. Would you really need the treefern and charcoal for a BG?

I dont think the charcoal is ideal, and dont think it will add anything beneficial to it but I already have a bag of the AGB already mixed up. I think the tree fern would add good texture both visually and for roots to grab onto.
