So I've had 3 yellow spotted climbing toads for about 4 months now. They seemed to be doing all fine, but today, I come in, and one of them is dead. I checked on them all yesterday and they seemed fine.

The one thing I noticed was mites or something crawling along the body(which was still pretty fresh). Is there any chance these mites (or whatever) killed the toad? After finding the dead one, I check out the other 2 frogs to see if they had anything crawling on them and didn't see anything.

Mites usually by themselves are harmless, but an infestation can cause serious stress. Clean the cage and remove tank mates.

This thread is 6 months old. The mites were more likely detritivores that came about as a result of the already dead toad.
