Hello everyone,

I've just started out in the hobby, and I have a really quick question about mites. What exactly do they look like? I'm asking, because I noticed some very very little black things in two of my FF cultures. There smaller than a grain of pepper but there moving around in the media. Are these mites, or are they part of the FF process? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I've never seen black mites before. You say they are moving around in the media. The fruit fly larvae have black noses. Could you just be seeing the noses of the larvae?

Hey! I did find out, that there are the nose of the FF larva. I guess you live and learn. Thanks for the help though. I imagine I'll have many more questions in the future.
