I have a drilled 65 gallon tank I am wanting to turn into a viv. I got it off of Craigslist for $25 . The down side is that is was a drilled tank where the center over flow was. The holes are in the center bottom glass too. I'm trying to decide if I should make it a vertical or leave horizontal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I personally like the look of horizontal terrariums but if you are going to put thumbnails in it then I would go for a vertical. Either way a 65 gallon will make a great display terrraium.

Im not to worried about the height for thumbnails if it stays horizontal. I just was curious to see if there were any pros/ cons to having a vertical tank that deep.

just cut the center brace out. as for it being horizontal. it will be harder to get to the ground if need be. you will have to stick your whole arm in there.

I'm assuming that it's a 4ft long tank and that being the case it's going to be problematic getting enough light down to the bottom of it, if you decide to make a vert out of it -just some food for thought.
